As I stare into the muddy waters, I call my life and search the depths of the woman before me. I whisper to the ripples of my reflection, "I love you." It took years to understand that before any man places value on the measure of my love and legacy, I place my own. My advice: Set your price high and don't compromise.

I admit that my sweet success and bitter losses are revolving doors. I laugh as I look back over my life, once believing that giving more than I received would guarantee a reward for my long-suffering. Imagine my surprise when I discovered this principle applied only in certain circumstances, and love wasn't one of them. Unlike some women who effortlessly achieve perfect timing, it seemed to elude me.

 

Though my fingers got cut while picking up the broken shards of glass that mirrored my life, I didn't give up, and I wrapped my blood-stained hands around my faults. With the help of therapy, supportive friends, and countless experiences, I have evolved into a better woman. 

 

Faith became my secret weapon against all the doubters. From the shadows, a new version of my life emerged. I rejoiced as the holes in my heart were filled with peace, and my weary soul found solace. I can only hope that the threads of my identity weave through the tapestry of my imperfect love story for the world to enjoy.
